2024 Fundraising Progress:
Hands Across Montecito Homeless Outreach Project Outline:
City Net works to mobilize community resources to coordinate supportive service provision to those experiencing street-level homelessness in parks, personal vehicles, encampments, emergency shelters and other public areas where homeless neighbors live. These efforts seek to reduce wasteful duplication and fill missing gaps in the continuum of care, with the long-term goal of ending homelessness by providing homeless neighbors a stable context in which their emergency needs are met, so they can work on long-term housing plans. City Net is partnering with the Montecito Association to continue its initiative through 2024 that started in October 2020. The goals are to realize the following homeless solutions for their community:
Provide adequate resources to facilitate a needs assessment through the facilitation of a homeless census in the community.
Deploy a team of expert case managers who help determine the best path for each individual or family who cooperate with supportive services to overcome barriers and navigate the system of care.
Respond to areas of concern identified by local community stakeholders.
Assist with filling the gaps within the system of care through the provision of funds to support access to needed items like: clothing, food, water, good hygiene and housing stabilization resources (furniture, basic home supplies, etc.).
